Used actively in medical terminology to denote a condition of sensitivity to pain as specified by the combining root.

dactylalgia (s) (noun) (no pl)
Pain in a finger or the fingers; dactylodynia: Arthritis, ganglion cysts, and gout are just three kinds of dactylalgia, or the agony and suffering that can occur in a person's fingers.
defecalgesiophobia (s) (noun), defecalgesiophobias (pl)
An abnormal dread of having painful defecation or bowel movements: Often when Clara went to the toilet, she had a defecalgesiophobia because she thought it would hurt again when her intestines discharged the contents.
dentalgia (s) (noun) (no pl)
A toothache: Dr. Pyott explained that Jane's dentalgia came from a caries in one of her molar teeth.
dentinalgia (s) (noun) (no pl)
Dentinal sensitivity or pain: Dentinalgia is related to deentin, the hard portion of the tooth surrounding the pulp, covered by enamel on the crown and cementum of t: e root.
dermatalgia, dermalgia (s) (noun); dermatalgias; dermalgias (pl)
Localized pain, usually confined to the skin; dermatodynia: One kind of dermatalgia is shingles which can cause much suffering, but can be treated successfully.
diaphragmalgia (s) (noun) (no pl)
A rarely used term for a pain in the diaphragm: There are many reasons for diaphragmalgia, or the distress in an individual's muscle that separates the abdominal region and the thoracic cavity, like an injury, intense activity, and even a pregnancy.
didymalgia, didymodynia (s) (noun) (no pl)
Pain in a testicle: A didymalgia can be caused by an infection, an injury, or by a build-up of fluid, or cyst.
digitalgia (s) (noun) (no pl)
Agony in a digit, such as a finger or a toe: Arthritis, an injury, or a cyst can all be causes for digitalgia affecting a person's finger or toe.
digitalgia paresthetica (s) (noun), digitalgia parestheticas (pl)
Pain and numbness which is usually restricted to the distribution of a single digital nerve: If Mary lifts her left arm above her head, she notices a bit of digitalgia parenthetic in her left hand as she experiences numbness in her left thumb.

dorsalgia (s) (noun), dorsalgias (pl)
Pain in the uplper back: Because Mrs. Good had to correct so many papers and tests for her students for many weeks, and had to bend over her desk doing so, her back, just below her neck, started hurting her a lot, and the doctor diagnosed it as being dorsalgia.
electroanalgesia (s) (noun) (no pl)
Analgesia induced by using an electric current or the use of an electric current to relieve pain: Electroanalgesia is a kind of relief from pain by the application of low-intensity electric currents locally or through implanted electrodes.

Electroanalgesia may involve stimulation of brain or spinal cord structures through indwelling electrodes, or stimulation of a peripheral nerve.

encelialgia (s) (noun) (no pl)
Pain located in any of the abdominal viscera: A few examples of encelialgia causing agony or suffering in the abdominal cavity can be indigestion, bowel obstruction, or a urinary tract infection.
encephalalgia (s) (noun) (no pl)
Rare, a deep-seated head pain; a severe headache: Dr. Mathews told Tim that he definitely needed rest, no cellphone games or the like, and no bright lights to get over his encephalalgia. He should also drink a lot of tea or water and take his medication regularly.
enteralgia (s) (noun) (no pl)
Severe abdominal pain; enterdynia; enterodynia: Enteralgia can be caused by appendicitis, a colitis, or constipation, and can be accompanied in some cases by spasm of the bowel.
enteroalgia (s) (noun) (no pl)
Intestinal pain: After Dr. Good examined Jane, he told her that she probably had a case of enteroalgia which caused her to suffer in the abdominal region.
