Used actively in medical terminology to denote a condition of sensitivity to pain as specified by the combining root.

Pain in the breast: Each time Susan's menstral period began she experienced mammalgia in both breasts, which was not a serious disorder.
mastalgia (s) (noun) (no pl)
Pain in the breast or mammary gland, whether serious or not: Mastalgia has many causes including injury, infection, and plugged milk ducts.
mastoidalgia (s) (noun) (no pl)
Pain in the mastoid region: Mastoidalgia is the agony experienced in the bony protuberance on the skull behind the ear in many vertebrates, including humans.

Outdated, opium withdrawal pains in an addict: In his father's very old medical dictionary, Tom read about meconalgia being the suffering of an addicted person when trying to cease the intake of opium.

Outdated, a very severe pain: Judy suffered from a case of megalgia when she fell from her horse and broke her arm.
melalgia (s) (noun) (no pl)
Pain in a limb or limbs: Melalgia is specifically a burning pain in the feet extending up the leg and even to the thigh.
melosalgia (s) (noun) (no pl)
Obsolete, pain in the lower extremities: Jane finally went to see Dr. Smith about the discomfort in her legs, and after being examined, he said she had a condition of melosalgia and gave her some medication to relieve her suffering.
menorrhalgia (s) (noun) (no pl)
Difficult and painful menstruation, or pain which occurs during menstruation: In the beginning when Ginnie first had her period, she suffered from menorrhalgia, and even fainted once because of the pain!
meralgia (s) (noun) (no pl)
Pain in the thigh: Meralgia is specifically "meralgia paresthetica", a numbness causing agony in the lateral thigh due to a lesion to the lateral cutaneous nerve in the thigh.
merocoxalgia (s) (noun), merocoxalgias (pl)
A painful condition of the thigh and hip: Because old Mrs. Brown suffered from merocoxalgia, she couldn't walk very well and never to far and spent most of her time in a wheel chair.
metatarsalgia (s) (noun) (no pl)
Pain in in the region of the metatarsals in the foot: After checking and examining Joe's feet, Dr. Thompson came to the conclusion that Joe had a condition of metatarsalgia affecting the bones between his toes and his ankles.
mononeuralgia (s) (noun) (no pl)
Pain along the course of one nerve: Ron learned that mononeuralgia related to a person being plagued by only a single nerve trunk.
muscular hyperalgesia (s) (noun) (no pl)
Pain induced by movement in fatigued muscles: Muscular hyperalgesia can include a problem with the nerve supply, a problem with a muscle, and an inborn error of metabolism.
myalgia (s) (noun), myalgias (pl)
A morbid condition of a muscle; myodynia; myoneuralgia; myosalgia: Myalgia is characterized by pain and tenderness, for example in muscular rheumatism.
myalgic (adjective) (not comparable)
Referring to an unhealthy condition in the muscles: Tom overdid himself with exercising too long at the fitness studio and experienced a bad myalgic state of wellbeing and couldn't walk properly to the dressing room.
