Loxomma
An extinct genus of Loxommatidae (large labyrinthodont predators of the Late Carboniferous or geologic period).
The name describes the pattern of the infolding of the dentine and enamel of the teeth, which are often the only part of the creatures that fossilize.
loxophthalmus
A squint, squinting; a condition in which the lines of sight of the two eyes cannot be directed at the same point of fixation under normal conditions; therefore, oblique vision.
It is normal in newborn babies, but it should stop by the time the baby is six moths old. Loxophthalmus beyond the newborn period may be caused by a blow on the head, disease, heredity, or other conditions.
loxosceles
A genus of six-eyed spiders (family Loxoscelidae) that includes the brown recluse spider (Loxoscelidae reclusa) some of which have poisonous bites.
loxoscelism
The disease prodkuced by the bite of the brown recluse spider, Loxosceles laeta or Loxosceles reclusa.
Characterized by skin lesions, fever, and severe gastrointestinal disturbances; and may even be fatal.
