macrocyst
A cyst that is large enough to be felt with the fingers.

A cyst is any closed cavity or sac that is lined by epithelium (covering of internal and external surfaces of the body) and which often contains liquid or semi-solid material.

macrocystis
An immensely long blackish seaweed of the Pacific (Macrocystis pyrifera), having numerous almond-shaped air vessels.
macrocyte
1. An abnormally large red blood cell, especially one associated with pernicious anemia.
2. An abnormally large erythrocyte; such as, those seen in macrocytic anemia; also known as a megalocyte.
macrocytic
1. Any abnormally large cell. The opposite of macrocytic is microcytic (an abnormally small cell).
2. An abnormally large red blood cell. Folic acid deficiency is one cause of macrocytic anemia.
macrocytosis
1. The presence of unusually large red cells in the blood.
2. A condition in which the erythrocytes are larger than normal; such as, in macrocytic anemia and some types of liver disease.

Macrocytosis is present in 1 to 4 percent of the adult population. The most common cause is alcoholism. Other causes include: nutritional deficiencies (B12 and folate), chemotherapy, drug side effects, haemolysis, liver dysfunction, myelodysplasia, as well as, hypothyroidism.

1. One of a group of wading birds (Macrodactyli) having very long toes; also written as macrodactyle.
macrodactylia
A reference to the abnormal largeness of one or more digits.
macrodactylism
An excessive size of one or more fingers or toes.
macrodactylous
Having exceptionally long toes.

A condition in which one or more of the fingers or toes is abnormally large.

A dome the faces of which are parallel to the greater lateral axis.

2. Characterized by macrodontia, as with a macrodont animal.

2. A developmental disorder characterized by increase in the size of the teeth; it may affect a single tooth or all of the teeth, or teeth of normal size may appear to be abnormally large in proportion to abnormally small jaws.
