A tumor or hernia distended with gas or circumscribed swelling due to gas; aerocele: The outdated term physocele refers to a gas- or air-filled tumor or sac.
A swelling caused by gas or air: A pneumatocele can occur when a cut or tear in the lung tissue fills with air, and this rupture creates the air-filled sac or cavity.

Hernial protrusion of the tracheal mucous membrane.
A tracheal hernia containing air: Arthur was informed by his doctor that he had a condition of tracheoaerocelem or, in other words, a cyst in his neck that was caused by an enlargement, or bulge, in the mucous membrane because of a defect in the trachea wall.
tracheocele
Hernial protrusion of the tracheal mucous membrane through a defect in the wall of the trachea. Synonym: trachelocele.
