(Greek: pain, sense of pain; painful; hurting)

Used actively in medical terminology to denote a condition of sensitivity to pain as specified by the combining root.

gingivalgia
Pain in the gingiva (the gum) or gingivae (gums) around the roots of the teeth.
glossagra (s) (noun), glossagras (pl)
Painful sensations in the tongue, including a sensation of burning.
gnathalgia
Having a pain in the jaw.
gonalgia
Pain in the knee.
haphalgesia
1. Pain or an extremely disagreeable sensation caused by the merest touch.
2. Pain felt by the mere touching of something or by being touched lightly.
hemialgia
Pain affecting one entire half of the body.
hemianalgesia
Analgesia affecting one side of the body.
hemicephalalgia
The unilateral headache characteristic of typical migraine; also, hemicrania.
hemihypalgesia
Hypalgesia affecting one side of the body.
hemiopalgia
Pain in one eye, usually accompanied by hemicrania.
hepatalgia
Pain in the liver; also called hepatodynia.
hieralgia (s) (noun), hieralgias (pl)
A pain in the sacrum or the "os sacrum" which is the "sacred bone"; so called because it was thought never to disintegrate or break up.

The "os sacrum" is a large triangular bone formed by the fusion of the five sacral vertebrae at the base of the vertebral column and lying between the hip bones at the back part of the pelvic cavity.

humectalgia
Pain caused by moisture or humid weather.
hypalgesia
Decreased sensibility to pain.
hypalgesic
A reference to a decreased or diminished sensitivity to pain.
