(Greek: feeling, sensation, perception; suffering, disease, or disorder; a system of treating diseases)

In medicine, some of these elements usually mean "someone who suffers from a disease of, or one who treats a disease"; so, they should not be confused with the words that mean "feeling" which are also shown on these pages even though both meanings come from the same Greek element.

melanopathy (s) (noun), melanopathies (pl)
A disease marked by an increase of.pigmentation of the skin; melanopathia: An unusual process of the rete mucosum can cause an extreme amount of dark pigment of the skin called melanopathy.
meniscopathy (s) (noun), meniscopathies (pl)
A pain or an infection of the cartilaginous tissues found in body junctions: Meniscopathy may indicate a treatment of a disease or an abnormality of a meniscus which consists of ligaments that reduce friction during bodily joint movements.
metabolic craniopathy, metabolic encephalopathy (s) (noun); metabolic craniopathies; metabolic encephalopathies (pl)
Encephalopathy characterized by memory loss, vertigo, and generalized weakness: Metabolic craniopathy is due to a metabolic brain disease including hypoxia (abnormal oxygen reduction), ischemia (low oxygen condition because of inadequate blood flow), hypoglycaemia (abnormally diminished concentration of glucose in the blood), or secondary to another organ failure, such as the liver or kidney.
meteoropathology (s) (noun), meteoropathologies (pl)
The pathology of conditions caused by weather or atmospheric circumstances: Some weather-sensitive people are very interested in meteoropathology and watch out for weather alerts of conditions that might affect their health in any way, for example by sudden and drastic changes in temperature.

A disease or illness caused by climatic conditions: The physical condition or symptoms of a person connected with weather changes, like extreme variations in temperature or humidity, is termed meteoropathy.
metropathia, metropathy (s) (noun) (no pl)
An ailment of the uterus; metropathy: Metropathia was diagnosed when Stella went for her regular check-up at her gynaecologist's, and she was told that it affected the myometrium, or the smooth muscle wall of the uterus.
metropathic (adjective) (not comparable)
Concerning a disease in the uterus: A metropathic condition can be a polycystic ovary syndrome, an interstitial cystitis, or gynecologic cancer among other ailments.
monopathophobia (s) (noun), monopathophobias (pl)
An abnormal panic of a particular disease: People suffering from monopathophobia tend to worry in an extreme way about contracting an illness in a certain part of the body.
monopathy (s) (noun), monopathies (pl)
A disease affecting a single part of the body or a single uncomplicated disease: Mary had a strange spot on her arm, and her dermatologist said that the monopathy only concerned that one spot, and nothing else in her body was involved.
motorpathy (s) (noun) (no pl)
Treatment of a disease with gymnastics: kinesiatrics: Dr. Tall said that motorpathy, a movement-cure, would be the correct therapy for Jill as a method of rehabilitation.
myelinopathy (s) (noun), myelinopathyies (pl)
Any disease or dysfunction of myelin: Mr. Small suffered from myelinopathy, which affected the white fatty substance containing lipids and lipoproteins that surround the axons of nerves.
myelopathy (s) (noun), myelopathies (pl)
Any disease of the spinal cord: Mr. Big's back hurt him a lot and after the examination was completed, he found out that he had myelopathy in which the tissue of the medulla spinals was damaged.
myocardiopathy (s) (noun), myocardiopathies (pl)
Any disease of the heart muscle; cardiomyopathy: Marie noticed that her heart was becoming weaker because of the myocardium or muscular tissue in her heart, known as a case of myocardiopathy, so she went into surgery and hoped for the best!
myopathia (s) (noun), myopathias (pl)
An outdated term relating to one of various diseases of muscles that are not due to nerve ailments; myopathy: Myopathia can be an ongoing muscular dystrophy and is genetically inherited.

One of the main symptoms of myopathia is an increase of muscular weakness.

Any disease of the muscles or of the muscle tissue: Some of the football players developed myopathy and could not play in the upcoming season.
