Rainfall produced by supersaturation of an air mass forced upwards by a mountain range.
orographical
orography, oreography
That branch of physical geography which deals with the formation and features of mountains; the description of mountains. Also, the orographical features of a region.

The branch of hydrography that deals with the relation of mountains to drainage and to water sheds.
orthodiagraph
A radiographic device for recording the size and shape of internal organs without the distortion of ordinary roentgenography (X-rays).
orthodiagraphy
A method by which the exact outlines of a bodily organ; especially, the heart, can be measured by using a fluoroscopic image.
orthodonture
The branch of dentistry dealing with the prevention, or correction, of irregularities of the teeth.
orthographer
1. Someone who is skilled in orthography.
2. A person who spells in accordance with accepted usage.

orthographist
Someone who spells words correctly.
orthography (s) (noun), orthographies (pl)
1. A mode or system of spelling; especially, of spelling correctly or according to acceptable usage: Marissa's tutor insisted that she study orthography as part of her English studies so she could use and spell words precisely.
2. The study of spelling or of the correct spelling patterns of a particular language: Mr. Smith was the foremost researcher of orthography, traveling to numerous university libraries to check texts.

In the university catalogue, orthography was listed separately from English literature and English composition courses.

orthopantograph (s) (noun), orthopantographs (pl)
A device that makes images of the entire dentition, alveolar bone, and other structures of the body on a single extraoral or outside the mouth film.
orthopantomography (s) (noun), orthopantomographies (pl)
A modification of X-rays that are made to be more nearly normal to the line of the jaws, so that a radiograph can be obtained showing all the teeth and adjacent tissue in a straight line.
