anemographical (adjective) (not comparable)
Referring to a recording anemometer: Thomas learned all about the anemographical apparatus that recorded the directions and forces of the wind in various kinds of weather.
anemography (s) (noun) (no pl)
The system of recording the directions and forces of the wind: An anemograph is the scientific technique of documenting the measurements of the wind.
anemometrograph (s) (noun), anemometrographs (pl)
An anemograph for measuring and recording different features of winds: The anemometrograph that Kitty read about was able to document the pressures, directions, speeds, and forces of winds simultaneouly, especially during stormy conditions.
anepigraphous (adjective), more anepigraphous, most anepigraphous
A reference to being without an inscription or having no written records.
aneurysmograph (s) (noun), aneurysmographs (pl)
A demonstration of an aneurysm, usually by means of x-rays and a contrast medium.
angelography (s) (noun), angelographies (pl)
A descriptive treatise about angels.
angiocardiography (s) (noun), angiocardiographies (pl)
1. X-ray imaging of the heart and great vessels made visible by injection of a radiopaque solution.
2. Angiography of the heart and great vessels; contrast material may be injected into a blood vessel or one of the cardiac chambers.

Images obtained can be analyzed to determine parameters of ventricular function, including ventricular ejection fractions, cardiac output, ejection rates, stroke volume, end-diastolic volume, and end-systolic volume, as well as to test the effects of exercise.

angiocinematography (s) (noun), angiocinematographies (pl)
A radiography of vessels or of the heart, with recordings of the images on motion-picture film; therefore, permitting the study of motion.

It is especially useful in the study of coronary arteries and the chambers of the heart.

The diagnostic value of conventional determination of cerebral circulation time from serial angiograms is questioned and compared with the results of angiocinematographic investigation.

angiodynography (s) (noun), angiodynographies (pl)
A diagnostic procedure that uses high-frequency sound waves to image arteries and veins.

Sometimes angiodynography is referred to as "color flow Doppler" because the arteries will appear as red on the screen and the veins will be blue. Useful in the determination of vascular obstruction.

angiograph (s) (noun), angiographs (pl)
A radiograph of blood vessels taken during the (I)angiography(/I) process.
angiographic (adjective), more angiographic, most angiographic
1. Radiography of vessels after the injection of a radiopaque contrast material; usually requires percutaneous insertion of a radiopaque catheter and positioning under fluoroscopic control.
2. A special kind of sphygmograph or instrument for recording on paper the movements of the pulse.
angiography (s) (noun), angiographies (pl)
1. Angiography is the termination of the arrangement of blood or lymph vessels without dissection, by capillaroscopy, fluoroscopy, or radiography.
2. Angiography is also the radiographic visualization of blood vessels following introduction of contrast material; used as a diagnostic aid in such conditions as stroke syndrome and myocardial infarction.
angiopneumography (s) (noun), angiopneumographies (pl)
Angiography of the pulmonary vessels which is used to detect pulmonary embolism or less frequently to delineate pulmonary arteriovenous malformations, pulmonary varices, or pulmonary vessel anatomy.

An angiogram is a roentgenographic (X-ray) examination of blood vessels after injection of a radiopaque contrast medium which produces an angiogram.

angioretinography (s) (noun), angioretinographies (pl)
Angioretinographies are the visualization of the blood vessels of the retina after an injection of a nontoxic radiopaque or fluorescing substance has been applied.
animatograph (s) (noun) animatographs (pl)
An animatograph is an early form of motion-picture projector which is an older name for a movie projector, a machine, combining magic lantern and kinetoscope features, for projecting on a screen a series of pictures, moved rapidly (25 to 50 frames per second) and intermittently before an objective lens, and producing by persistence of vision the illusion of continuous motion; a moving-picture projector; also, any of several other machines or devices producing moving pictorial effects.

Other older terms for the movie projector are animatograph, biograph, bioscope, electrograph, electroscope, kinematograph, kinetoscope, veriscope, vitagraph, and vitascope
