anablepophobia (s) (noun), anablepophobias (pl)
An excessive apprehensiveness of looking up at high places: Generally those who have anablepophobias avoid glancing up at the tops of tall buildings in cities and at the tops of mountains while in the country.

Anyone with an anablepophobia can become overwhelmingly uncomfortable and shaken, sometimes having symptoms associated with panic attacks, such as palpitations, sweating, dizziness, and difficulty in breathing.

androphobia (s) (noun) (no plural)
A repugnance of men that may be a result of unpleasant experiences with them or because of some particular characteristics of males: Those who are afflicted with androphbia will try to avoid situations where such genders are present.

Describing the hatred of the male gender: The person who has an androphobic attitude usually tries to avoid any conditions that involve men.
anemophobia (s) (noun) (no pl)
An abnormal terror of strong drafts, winds, cyclones, hurricanes, etc.: There are some who are overwhelmed with anemophobia when the weather changes, such as when dark clouds appear, or when they can hear the wind blowing.

Descriptive of someone who has an abnormal dread, or fear, of drafts or winds: Greg, being anemophobic, avoided going outside at all and kept all the windows and doors of his house closed because he couldn't stand any air currents, gusts of air, breezes, or draughts.
anginophobia (s) (noun), anginophobias (pl)
An abnormal or irrational dread of choking or of suffocation: Angina pectoris is not a sharp pain, but rather a sensation of pressure, squeezing, or tightness. It usually starts in the center of the chest under the breastbone (sternum) and radiates to the throat area.

The first time a person has uncomplicated angina pectoris, he or she may fear of having a fatal heart attack. An individual afflicted with anginophobia may become extremely anxious and even have a panic attack that will aggravate his chest pains.

Anglophobia (s) (noun) (no plural)
A strong distrust or hatred of England and all things that are English: Anglophobia is found among people who have strong opinions against the language and culture relating to everything English.
ankylophobia (s) (noun), ankylophobias (pl)
A dread that a joint of the elbows or knees will become immobile: The symptoms of ankylophobia can be anxiety and fear that one cannot bend the arm or leg any more and that they become stiff as to cause pain.
anopheliphobia (s) (noun), anopheliphobias (pl)
A panic or extreme hatred of mosquitoes: There are people who have a special anopheliphobia regarding those dipterous insects that can spread malaria with their bites or pierce the skin to extract blood.

A person who abhors or despises mosquitoes of any kind at any time: Judy was bitten by many dipterous insects when she was a child and became an anopheliphobiac, dreading the sight or even the sound of such an insect flying.

A strong negative feeling regarding flowers in general, or of a particular flower: Doug had an aversion towards florets and blossoms, especially because of their intense smell or fragrance, and was therefore afflicted with anthophobia.

A profound dislike or hatred of people in general: Those who suffer from anthropophobia have such an abhorrence of mankind that it can result in the avoidance of any social relationships with other people or specific individuals.
antlophobia (s) (noun), antlophobias (pl)
An inordinate and excessive fright of floods, especially of drowning in a flood: This antlophobia is just one of many fears of natural disasters that also include hurricanes and tornadoes.

When a person is afflicted with antlophobia regarding such natural threats that are considered extreme, it is still wise for everyone to take as many precautions as possible that can help them to feel safe.

anuptaphobia (s) (noun) (no plural)
An excessive anxiety of remaining unmarried or alone: Many people afflicted with anuptaphobia about remaining single view the world as being populated by couples.

Sometimes those who are affected by anuptaphobia, or are unwedded, don't want to be considered socially different than most of the other people or they don't want to grow old and be alone.

Those who suffer from anuptaphobia have a dread that other people will consider them as being rejected by their friends and acquaintances, and that no one wants anything to do with them.

apeirophobia (s) (noun) (no plural)
An excessive fear of infinity or something that has no end: Individuals who have apeirophobia like to have terms defined and distances measured, and appreciate the accurate predictability of things in their lives.
