sociophobia (s) (noun) (no plural)
An abnormal hatred of society or any social friendships: Frank was not a very companionable or convivial person and avoided parties, dinners, and other get-togethers with colleagues or acquaintances because he had sociophobia.
solariphobic (adjective); more solariphobic, most solariphobic
Referring to something that is irritated by exposure to sunlight: Grace had very sensitive skin and eyes which were definitely solariphobic, and she always wore a hat with a broad rim and sunglasses to protect her skin and eyes against the glaring rays during daytime.
sophophobia (s) (noun) (no plural)
An intense dread of intellectualism or of learning: Sophophobia was so ingrained in her head that Susan refused to grasp even the simplest facts or discover things by experience!
spectrophobia (s) (noun) (no plural)
1. An irrational dread of specters, or of phantoms: Even though Celia knew that her anxiety of supernatural beings was irrational, she suffered from spectrophobia, and never went into forests, into empty houses or other dark places!
2. A fear of looking in a mirror at one's own image or seeing the images of others: Mandy avoided having any reflecting surfaces in her home because she disliked perceiving and regarding herself in such looking glasses or other such polished surfaces.
spermatophobia, spermophobia (s) (noun) (no plural)
1. An intensive fear of losing semen: Spermatohobia is a dread of uncontrolled ejaculation of the seminal fluid by the male genital tract, a notion or feeling that it is present, but is not.
2. An excessive apprehension of germs: Greg, suffering from spermophobia, always has his house exceedingly clean and spotless because he has a loathing of bugs and bacteria which can cause diseases.
spheksophobia (s) (noun) (no plural)
An uncontrollable angst of wasps: While Olivia was picking plums in the garden, a winged insect termed hymenopter, flew by and stung her badly, giving her a case of spheksophobia, which she never overcame.
stasibasiphobia, stasiphobia, stasophobia (s) (noun) (no plural)
An abnormal conviction that one cannot stand or walk; an intense fear of attempting to stand or to walk: Pauline decided quickly to sit down when she went to visit friends because she had stasiphobia and was afraid of falling once she was in a vertical position or even ambulating!
staurophobia (s) (noun) (no plural)
An abnormal dread or hatred of the crucifix: Valerie had a very bad experience once when she went to church and viewed the image of the crucified Jesus on a cross and had to leave the building quickly because she felt suddenly ill, and thereafter she had staurophobia.
stenophobia (s) (noun) (no plural)
A hatred of narrow and tight things or spaces: Hannah's boyfriend loved camping and had a very small tent, but Hannah, who had stenophobia, couldn't stand sleeping in it because it was quite confined and cramped, and she had the feeling of not being able to breath!
suriphobia (s) (noun) (no plural)
A panic of mice: Mrs. Hathaway, afflicted with suriphobia, detested the small rodents with the pointed snouts, rounded ears, and long scaly tails because they had invaded her home once looking for food and it took quite a long time to get rid of them.
symbolophobia (s) (noun) (no plural)
1. An apprehension that one's speech or behaviour could embody symbolic meanings: Joyce, afflicted with symbolophobia, had to be very careful of what she said at the dinner party because she was really afraid that someone could misinterpret what she said and give another implication to it.
2. A hatred of symbols or icons: Robin, troubled with symbolophobia, didn't get along with the representation of things, like logos or emblems, because she could never understand or make sense of them.
symmetrophobia (s) (noun) (no plural)
A strong dislike of symmetry: An individual, suffering from symmetrophobia, may have the compulsion to rearrange furniture so that end tables are not exactly the same distances from a couch, or identical lamps are not positioned at equal distances from a chair or couch.

There may also be a compulsion to rearrange pictures on a wall in a random manner rather than in a row or equal intervals from each other.

syngenescophobia, sygenesophobia (s) (noun) (no plural)
An abnormal disgust of relatives: Dependency and intrusiveness found among family relations can cause an anxiety known as syngenescohobia, when parents, children, aunts, uncles, etc. have strong aversions towards the other kinsmen.
syphiliphobia, syphilophobia (s) (noun); syphiliphobias, syphilophobias (pl)
A morbid dread of being infected with syphilis: Syphiliphobia, or the horror of catching the infectious illness caused by a spirochete, can cause much embarrassment in others knowing about it, or the fear of having serious complications that may occur when untreated.
tabophobia (s) (noun) (no plural)
An intense apprehension of any wasting sickness: After Linda's mother died of consumption, she developed tabophobia and had a horror of coming down with this illness herself.
