nebulaphobia (s) (noun) (no plural)
An abnormal apprehension of fog or clouds: People who tend to have nebulaphobia certainly do not want to wander through cemeteries when it is dark and very misty!
necrophobia (s) (noun) (no plural)
An irrational dread of death or dead bodies: Some individuals who suffer from necrophobia have a great fear of corpses and graveyards, believing that the buried will return and haunt the living!
necrophobic (adjective), more necrophobic, most necrophobic
A reference to someone who has a morbid fear of death or of corpses: Jack's sister was certainly necrophobic because she was not only afraid of dead bodies, but also of coffins, tombstones, scythes, and graveyards!
neopharmaphobia (s) (noun) (no plural)
An exaggerated fear of a new medicine or drugs: Having neopharmaphobia, Jane was very apprehensive of the medication the doctor prescribed for her because it was the most recent one on the market, and therefore she asked him for one that had proved its excellent quality over the years.
neophobia (s) (noun), neophobias (pl)
An intense aversion for new things, innovations, or unfamiliar things: Some people have neophobias when something is unknown or not understood.
nephophobia (s) (noun) (no plural)
An excessive fright of clouds: People who experience this phobia will not look up in the sky at the visible masses of water suspended way up in the sky. This fear may be related to other consternations concerning weather, such as impending rain, thunderstorms, or lightning. Some depressions are seasonally related, and for those whose depression occurs during the more darker and overcast months, such heavy thunderclouds can be particularly threatening.
niphophobia (s) (noun) (no plural)
A dread or exaggerated fear of snow: When it was winter and precipitation was predicted, Mrs. Careful, afflicted with niphophobia, always stayed inside because she was frightened of those masses of ice crystals falling and causing uncertain road conditions in the area where she lived.
noctiphobia, noctophobia (s) (noun) (no plural)
An irrational fear of night and darkness: Little Jill had noctiphobia and always had to have a light on in her room when she slept between sunset and sunrise.
noctiphobic, noctophobic (s) (noun), noctiphobics, noctophobics (pl)
Someone who has an irrational fear of night: Mrs. Smith was noctiphobic and was always frightened of going out into the darkness after sunset because of what might happen when she couldn't see everything perfectly!
nomatophobia, onomatophobia (s) (noun) (no plural)
An irrational apprehension of hearing a certain name, word or words: Susan was known to have onomatophobia because there were some terms she just couldn't stand hearing because of the horrible and frightening connotations they had for her.
nomophobia (s) (noun), nomophobias (pl)
The anxiety a person feels when out of range of a cellphone tower: Nomophobia is a combination of no mobile phobia and is a fear of not having any mobile phone contact.

There are many people who have become so dependent on their mobile phones that discovering the charge is too low, being in an area with no reception, or simply misplacing it causes nomophobia to rise to an extremely stressful level.

nosemaphobia, nosophobia (s) (noun) (no plural)
An exaggerated or excessive fear of contracting a disease or of becoming ill: Some people who have nosemaphobia become panicked hearing about such sicknesses as pulmonary tuberculosis, cancer, and AIDS, and have anxieties of acquiring such sicknesses.
nosocomephobia (s) (noun), nosocomephobias (pl)
An excessive or strong fear of hospitals: Some people have valid reasons for having nosocompephobias because sick people are sent to medical centers, and those who are weak when sent there become weaker while being there, and are highly susceptible to further infections.

Helena developed nosocomephobia because, when she went into the local infirmary in a healthy condition for her back operation, she contracted an infection, and then she needed special medical treatment to recover from it before the doctor could operate.

nostophobia (s) (noun) (no plural)
An irrational fear of returning to one's home: Those individuals suffering from nostophobia perhaps have had a very sad or tragic past and avoid going back to the place where they grew up or to the residence of the their past.
novercaphobia (s) (noun) (no plural)
An exaggerated hatred of a stepmother: James never did like his father's new wife, and, although he tried to overcome his novercaphobia, this revulsion persisted for a very long time!
