avitaminosis
A physical condition resulting from a lack of vitamins in the diet.
bacillosis
An infection caused by bacilli or rod-shaped bacterial cells.
bacteriosis
1. An infection caused by bacteria or a bacterial disease.
2. Any plant-disease caused by bacteria.
baragnosis
1. The loss of the ability to estimate or perceive the weight of an object.
2. Loss or impairment of the ability to differentiate varying weights or pressures, sometimes as the result of a brain lesion.

1. The inability to appreciate or estimate weight.
2. Loss of the sense of weight.
barognosis
1. The ability to estimate or perceive differences in the weight of various objects.
2. The perception of weight by the cutaneous and muscle senses; the ability to perceive weight.
3. Conscious perception of weight; the faculty by which weight is recognized; such as, when an object is placed in the hand.

The investigation of life which results in knowing about life.
bionecrosis (s), bionecroses (pl) (nouns)
1. Physiologic or normal death of cells or tissues as a result of changes associated with development, aging, or use.
2. Necrosis of a small area of tissue. Also, necrobiosis.
biosis
Life, in a general sense; vitality.
biosmosis
Osmosis through a living membrane.
blastomatosis
The formation of blastomas or tumor formation or the development of many tumors from embryonic tissue which is defined as a tumour composed of embryonic tissue that has not yet developed a specialized function.
blastomycosis
1. A fungal infection causing lesions on the lungs, skin, or mucous membranes.
2. Infection with a fungus called Blastomyces dermatitidis.

It usually presents a flu-like illness with fever, chills, productive cough, myalgia, arthralgia, and pleuritic chest pain.

Some patients fail to recover and develop chronic pulmonary infection or widespread disseminated infection; affecting the skin, bones, and genitourinary tract. It occasionally affects the meninges which cover the brain and spinal cord.

People who are at an elevated risk for the disease are those in areas with endemic disease with exposures to wooded sites; such as, farmers, forestry workers, hunters, and campers. The disease can leave permanent lung damage.
