Pain in the groin: A condition of inguinodynia occurs frequently after a hernia operation, but can also be caused by kidney stones or by a urinary tract infection.
Agony in the hip: Ischiodynia specifically refers to the ischium (seat bone of the pelvis).
Pain in the vagina; colpodynia; vaginodynia: A sexually transmitted infection, cysts, and a yeast infection are just three origins of kolpodynia.
Pain in the lumbar area: Muscle strains, osteoarthritis, sciatica, and cancer are just a few disorders that can produce a condition of lumbodynia.
Pain in the breast: There are different reasons for a case of mammodynia including a misfitting bra, a cyst, breast cancer, and hormonal changes.
Aching in the breast: Mastodynia is a type of mammary dysplasia, or abnormality of development, in which pain and tenderness are prominent symptoms.
A pain in the breast; mastodynia; mastalgia: A mazodynia can occur because of breast cancer, a breast infection, or by a breast injury, among other causes.
Pain in the uterus; metralgia: Fibroids, a pelvic inflammatory disease, or an irritable bowel syndrome canal cause a case of metrodynia.
Pain in a muscle or muscles: Pia found out that myodynia was the name given for her aching and sore muscles by overdoing her exercises in the fitness studio.
Nerve pain: Neurodynia is a paroxysmal (spasm or seizure) pain which extends along the course of one or more nerves.
Pain in the eyeball or eyeballs: Glaucoma, a corneal abrasion, contact lenses, or even dryness can all be reasons for a condition of oculodynia.
A toothache or a pain in a tooth or in the teeth: Little Timmy was told by his dentist that he had a condition of odontodynia due to cavities in his teeth.
Other reasons for odontodynia can be a dental abscess, a tooth fracture, and a periodontal disease.
Hypersensitiveness of the ears that result in pain caused by noises: Darrell's headaches and aches in his ears appeared to be the result of odynacusis which was especially noticeable when he was listening to a radio that was turned up to a high volume.
An irrational fear of pain: Many people who have odynophobia have a horror of going to the dentist because of suffering so much when the dentist has to remove decayed parts or extract a tooth, for example.
An instrument designed to measure pain; an algometer: In medical school, the students were shown how an odynometer was applied to assess the degree of sensitivity to a pain stimulus.
