mesial
1. In anatomy, having to do with, situated in, or directed toward the middle line of a body.
2. In, near, or toward the middle, or nearest to the midline, in the dental arch; a reference especially of the surface of a tooth.
mesially
A reference to being situated in, or directed toward the middle or median line of the body.
mesic (adjective), more mesic, most mesic
1. Characterized by moderate or well-balanced supplies of moisture.
2. Pertaining to organisms occupying wet habitats or living areas; such as, mesic plants.
mesic-supralittoral
The wettest part of the supralittoral, a zone of the seashore, occasionally washed by splashing waves; the splash zone.
mesiobuccal
A reference to or formed by the mesial and buccal surfaces of a tooth, or the mesial and buccal walls of a tooth cavity preparation.
mesiocervical
Referring to the mesial surface of the neck of a tooth; also, mesiogingival.
mesioclusion (s) (noun), mesioclusions (pl)
Malocclusion characterized by mesial displacement of one or more of the lower teeth.
mesiodens (s), mesiodentes (pl)
A centrally placed upper supernumerary tooth.

The most common supernumerary (extra) tooth, appearing singly or in pairs as a small tooth with a cone-shaped crown and a short root between the maxillary central incisors; it may be erupted, impacted, or even inverted.

mesiodistal
Relating to the line joining the midpoints of the mesial and distal surfaces of a tooth.
mesiogression
A condition of having the teeth forward of the normal position in the arch.
mesiolingual
A reference to or formed by the mesial and lingual surfaces of a tooth, or the mesial and lingual walls of a tooth cavity preparation.
mesio-occlusal (adjective)
Relating to both the mesial and occlusal surfaces of a tooth;

A reference to cavities and restorations involving these surfaces.

mesioversion, mesioplacement, mesial displacement
1. A position of a tooth nearer the median line than normal.
2. A more than normally anterior position of a jaw.

The piece of peritoneal tissue that connects the appendix to the ileum.
