hemimelia
1. A congenital abnormality (as total or partial absence) affecting only the distal half of a limb.
2. A developmental anomaly characterized by absence of all or part of the distal half of a limb.
hemimelus
An individual exhibiting hemimelia.
hemimorphic
A description of crystals that do not have a horizontal axis of symmetry, so that the top and bottom of the crystal display different forms.
hemimorphite
A white mineral; a common ore of zinc.
heminephrectomy
1. Excision of a portion of a kidney.
2. Removal by surgery of part of a kidney
heminephroureterectomy
Removal of a portion of a kidney and ureter by means of surgery.
hemiolaparotomy
1. The division of the abdominal walls in order to reach a strangulated hernia that has been returned so that the constricting part may be divided.
2. Laparotomyfor correction of hernia.

Pain in one eye, usually accompanied by hemicrania.

1. A plant, such as mistletoe, that obtains some nourishment from its host but also photosynthesizes; also, semiparasite.
2. An organism that can live either independently or as a parasite.

1. Amputation of an entire leg together with one lateral half of the pelvis on the same side.
2. Amputation of a lower limb through the sacroiliac joint.
