The various organs of reproduction include the following:
  • The ovaries, which produce eggs (ova) and female hormones.
  • The Fallopian tubes, which transport the egg from the ovaries to the uterus.
  • The uterus, which receives the egg for fertilization and provides a growth environment for the developing embryo and fetus.
  • The cervix, the lower, narrow part of the uterus that opens into the vagina; and the vagina.
  • The muscular canal that extends from the cervix to the outside of the body and enables sperm to enter the female reproductive tract.

The external opening of the transport tube that leads from the bladder to discharge urine outside the body in a female.

The urethra in a female is shorter than the urethra in the male.

The meatus (opening) of the female urethra is below the clitoris and just above the opening of the vagina.

feme sole (s) (noun)
In law, an unmarried woman; specifically, a single woman, including those who have been married, but whose marriage has been dissolved by death or divorce, and, for most purposes, those women who are judicially separated from their husbands.

The opposite is feme covert, "a married woman".

feme sole trader (noun), feme sole traders (pl)
In old English law, a married woman, who, by the custom of London, trades on her own account, independently of her husband; so called because, with respect to her trading, she is the same as a feme sole.

The term is also applied to women who have been deserted by their husbands, who do business as femes sole.

1. One who kills a woman.
2. The killing of a woman.

For example, AIDS in Africa has been termed "mass femicide".

Femicide is in contrast to the literal meaning of homicide, meaning "the killing of men".
