adenocele (s) (noun), adenoceles (pl)
An adenomatous cystic tumor; cystadenoma, hidrocystoma: An adenocele is a cystic tumor that might develop or grow in the glands.
adipocele (s) (noun), adipoceles (pl)
A hernia containing only fat inside the hernial sac; lipscele: An adipocere is an old-fashioned term regarding the presence of fatty tissue in the hernia, protrusion, or rupture.
aerocele (s) (noun), aeroceles (pl)
1. A cavity filled with air: An aerocele is a cyst or tumor formed by air filling an adventitious pouch, such as laryngocele and trachecele.
2. A cyst that is benign, contains air, thin-walled and can be found in the lung; pneumocele: When Dr. Smart was examining Mrs. Long, he detected an aerocele which turned out to be a case of staphylococcal pneumonia.
arthrocele (s) (noun), arthroceles (pl)
The swelling of bone contacts that are possibly caused by a hernia of a synovial membrane (tissues covered by fibrous and connective tissue) or pushing through into a connecting part of a membrane, causing severe discomfort: The pain in Hector's knee was caused by an arthrocele resulting in a swelling because a substance forced its way through the conjoining link in his leg.
1. An incomplete hernia of the groin accompanied by swelling.
2. An inguinal hernia; especially, one in which the protrusion of the intestine is limited to the region of the groin.
3. A femoral or inguinal hernia; especially, an incomplete variety in which the hernial pouch descends only as far as the groin, forming a swelling there like a bubo.

1. Hernial protrusion of the lacrimal sac.
