abdominal fascia (s) (noun), abdominal fasciae (pl)
A sheet or band of connective tissue covering or binding together parts of the body, such as muscles or organs, that form part of the general layer which lines the walls of the abdominal cavity and covers the abdominal organs: The abdominal fascia is subdivided into "visceral abdominal fascia" (internal organs of the abdomen), "parietal abdominal fascia" (connective tissue lining the wall of the abdominal cavity), and "extraperitoneal fascia" (thin layer of connective tissue and adipose or fat tissue).

Relating to both abdomen and perineum, as in abdominoperineal resection of the rectum.

Distention of the peritoneal cavity caused by gas: Since Jane felt pain in the area of her stomach and intestines, she went to see her doctor who diagnosed her as having a case of aeroperitonia, which affects the peritoneum or, in other words, the membrane lining the abdominal cavity.

A reference to the anus and the perineum (the region between the thighs, bounded in the male by the scrotum and anus and in the female by the vulva and anus).

Plastic surgery of the perineum involving the vagina.

Repair of a lacerated vagina and perineum.

A tumor composed of spindle cells with a rich vascular network, which apparently arises from pericytes.

It may be benign or malignant and usually occurs in the lower extremities or retroperitoneum.

A figure having a perimeter equal to that of another.

A reference to a woman's uterus and peritoneum (the membrane that lines the abdominal cavity and covers most of the abdominal organs).
