1. A reduction in the frequency of menstruation, with cycle lengths usually exceeding 40 days.
2. Scanty, or markedly diminished, menstrual flow during menstruation.

Also called relative amenorrhea or infrequent menstruation.

Referring to the time or experiences before menses, or before menses begins for the first time: The few days before her period begins, Jane often has premenstrual cramps and feels lousy and miserable.

Menstration, or a flow of blood from another opening other than from the uterus: The doctor explained to Mary that she had a case of xenomenia meaning that there was a loss of blood at the same time as her period, known also as vicarious menstruation

1. A condition in which the flow of menstrual blood is absent although the other symptoms of menstruation occur.
2. The presence of the usual physical disturbances of the menstrual period but without the menstrual flow of blood.
