Dystonia of the smooth muscles (muscle tissue that contracts without voluntary control found in the walls of internal organs, blood vessels, and hair follicles).

Dystonia refers to the involuntary movements and prolonged muscle contraction, resulting in twisting body motions, tremor, and abnormal posture. These movements may involve the entire body, or only an isolated area.

A leiomyoma (benign uterine tumors also referred to as uterine fibroids) containing non-neoplastic collagenous fibrous tissue (protein substance of the white fibers), which may make the tumor hard.

Fibroleiomyoma usually arises in the myometrium (uterine smooth muscle), and the proportion of fibrous tissue increases with age.

1. A rare cancerous tumor of the smooth muscle cells. It is most often found in the uterus or abdomen.
2. A sarcoma (malignant tumor that begins growing in connective tissue such as muscle, bone, fat, or cartilage) containing large spindle cells of smooth muscle.

Although it rarely occurs in soft tissue, it is common in the viscera. It is the most common soft tissue sarcoma of the gastrointestinal tract and uterus. The median age of patients is 60 years.
