1. A malignant tumor composed of neuroblasts, originating in the autonomic nervous system or the adrenal medulla and occurring chiefly in infants and young children.
2. A leading childhood form of cancer that arises in the adrenal gland or in tissue in the nervous system which is related to the adrenal gland.

This is the most common solid tumor outside the brain in infants and children.
