1. An epidermal structure specialized for secretion, or for exudation (discharge) of water.
2. A pore in the outer layer of a leaf that secretes water when the rate of transpiration is low; for example, in humid conditions.
hydatid
1. A cyst filled with liquid which forms as a result of infestation by tapeworm larvae; such as, in echinococcosis.
2. A cyst formed in human tissue that contains the larvae of a tapeworm.
3. Etymology: from the late 17th century through modern Latin from Greek hudatis, "drop of water, watery vesicle"; from Greek hudat-, "water".

The diseased state caused by the presence of hydatid cysts.
