heliozoan (s) (noun), heliozoans (pl)
A free-living, usually freshwater, protozoan that has a spherical shell and radiating projections: Heliozoa, or sun animalcules, are roughly spherical amoeboids with many stiff, microtubule-supported projections called axopods radiating outward from the cell surface.

These give them the characteristic sun-like appearance for which they are named, and are variously used for capturing food, sensation, movement, and attachment. They may be found in both fresh water and marine environments.

heterozoic (adjective) (not comparable)
Pertaining to another animal or species of an animal: Jane was very interested in many kinds of living creatures and bought a book about fauna which included discourses about the heterozoic differences among them.
histozoic (adjective) (not comparable)
Pertaining to an organism living on or in the tissues outside of a cell body: Certain parasitic protozoa are known to be histozoic parasites that inhabit the exterior part of a host.
holendozoic (adjective) (not comparable)
A reference to a parasite which passes its entire life within an animal host: In the biology book that Mary had, holendozoic parasites were mentioned, especially those referring to fungi.
holozoic (adjective) (not comparable)
Referring to a creature that obtains all of its food like animals do: Holozoic organisms procure their food, get the nourishment from plants and other animals, and ingest the complex organic matter. This expression is used mainly of protozoans.
homeozoic, homoeozoic (adjective) (not comparable)
Pertaining to, or including, similar forms or kinds of life: Homeozoic belts of the ocean or homeozoic belts on the earth's surface refer to such areas or zones with similar fauna, or fauna and flora.

hylozoism (s) (noun), hylozoisms (pl)
The philosophical doctrine that matter possess life, and matter and life cannot be separated from each other: Hylozoism is a belief that dates back to the Milesian school of pre-Socratic philosophers, and the term itself was created in 1678 by Ralph Cudworth, an English philosopher.
hypozoic (adjective) (not comparable)
Referring to elements that are older than the lowest rocks containing organic traces; pertaining to the Hyposoa: Hypozoic remains are those that lie below the fossiliferous systems in geology.
isozoic (adjective) (not comparable)
