acromycosis (s) (noun) (no pl)
A term for any fungal infection of the limbs: Acromycosis pertains to a nonspecific infection caused by a fungus and affects the arms or legs of a person.
acromyotonia, acromyotonus (s) (noun), acrmyotonias (pl)
Long muscular contractions affecting only the extremities: Acromyotonia can result in spasmodic deformity of a hand or foot.
acronarcotic (adjective), more acronarcotic, most acronarcotic
Pertaining to a matter which is both acrid (sharp, pungent) and narcotic: A substance of an acronarcotic nature is poisonous, can be quite irritating when applied locally on the body, and can produce stupor, a coma, convulsions, or even paralysis.

Any neuropathy of the extremities: Acroneurosis can be one kind of a diseased condition of the vasomotor nervous system which affects the legs and arms of an individual.
acronical, acronycal, acronychal, acronyctous (adjective) (not comparable)
In astronomy, referring to a star rising at sunset: The acronical appearance of a celestial body may take place at sunrise or in the evening with the setting of the sun..

In astronomy, concerning how or when a celestial body appears just after sunset: The stars in the sky arose acronically just as Jane and her husband sat down at the picnic table on their terrace to drink a glass of wine.
acronych (adjective) (not comparable)
Descriptive of an occurrence in the evening; vespertine: It can be said that a star is acronych when it appears at dusk.

Sometimes this term is used as if “rising in the evening or at sunset and setting at sunrise”. But this is not correct. When the rising is "acronychal", the setting is "cosmical", and vice versa. (According to the Oxford English Dictionary)

A zealous or keen passion for creating acronyms: Olivia was very interested in words and she developed an acroymania trying to form as many terms as possible by combining the initial letters of a multipart name.

1. Description of a word formed from the first (or first few) letters of a series of words: Examples formed in an acronymic way are radar, which comes from radio detecting and ranging, NATO, which comes from North Atlantic Treaty Organization, scuba, which comes from self-contained underwater apparatus, and sonar, which comes from sound navigation ranging.
2. Characteristic of words created from the initial letters of a phrase: Such acronymic examples are "Random Access Memory" which becomes RAM, pronounced as the word "ram", and the scientific term LASER that is a result of "Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation".
acronymous (adjective) (not comparable)
A reference to a word (tip-name) that is formed from the initials or other parts of several words: An example of an acronymous term is UNESCO, from the initials of the United Nations Eucational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization.
acronyx (s) (noun), acronyxes (pl)
An ingrown fingernail or toenail: An acronyx is a common form of a toenail ailment which is often painful because, while growing, it cuts into one or both sides of the "nail bed".

While acronyxes, or ingrown nails, can occur in the nails of the hands and feet, they usually exist most commonly with the toenails.

A more accurate description of an acronyx is that there is too much skin around the nail ("overgrown toeskin"), and so the nail itself is seldom the problem.

The most common place for acronyxes is in the big toe, however ingrowth can actually occur on any nail.

acroosteolysis, acro-osteolysis (s) (noun, ), acroosteolyses; acro-osteolyses (pl)
A degeneration of bone tissue, or the softening and destruction of bone, involving the distal phalanges of the fingers and toes: Acroosteolysis, caused by a disease, consists of two patterns of resorption in adults which are diffuse and bandlike.
acropachy, acropachia (s) (noun) (no pl)
A thickening of the peripheral tissues of the fingers and toes: Acropachy is a consequence of a pathologic condition that affects the periosteum and subcutaneous tissues, as in hyperthyroidism or hypertrophic pulmonary osteoarthropathy.
