-ability

(Latin: suffix; expressing ability, capacity, fitness, or "that which may be easily handled or managed")

Just a few examples out of hundreds of words presented as the noun forms of -able; forming nouns of quality from, or corresponding to, adjectives in -able; the quality in an agent that makes an action possible. The suffix -ible has related meanings.

absolute permeability (s) (noun), absolute permeabilities (pl)
A measurement of the capability of a fluid to flow through a rock formation when the formation is at complete saturation: Nancy learned at school that oil, gas, or even water can pass in and out of a hard mineral matter when it is totally drenched.
absorbability (s) (noun), absorbabilities (pl)
1. The state or quality of being able to be wholly interested in something or able to give full attention to something or to someone: The absorbability of so much information made Doug very qualified to complete the project.
2. The full involvement in doing something that a person wants to achieve: Shirley's absorbabilities while studying at the university resulted in a doctor's degree that was attained in less time than was normally required.
accountability (s) (noun), accountabilities (pl)
1. The situation of being liable or answerable for something: Jane's mother was hoping that her daughter would show accountability and responsibility for her conduct while being the president of her class.
2. The responsibility to someone or for some activity: Parents must demonstrate accountability for their children.
3. An official procedure in educational institutions of holding schools and teachers responsible for students' academic progress: Such accountability involves joining the progress of educatees or learners with the financial resources for salaries, maintenance, etc.
achievability (s) (noun), achievabilities (pl)
The condition of being able to accomplish or to perform an objective successfully: When Mrs. Smart made up the final exam, she had to make sure that an average level of achievability was possible for all the students to meet.
acquirability (s) (noun), acquirabilities (pl)
The act or fact of being able to be obtained, possessed, or owned: The acquirability of the wonderful piece of art seemed momentarily unobtainable when Jim tried to buy it.
adaptability (s) (noun), adaptabilities (pl)
The capacity to change or to be changed in order to fit or to work better in a situation or for some purpose: The adaptability provided by the device combining a screwdriver with pliers proved to be very useful in Sam's work and the device could be adjusted easily to fit the job at hand.
addressability (s) (noun), addressabilities (pl)
1. The capability of a digital device to individually answer a message which was sent to another comparable device: Addressabilites are included on mobile phones, pagers, and set-top boxes for pay television, or even computer networks.
2. The ability to address bits, fields, files, or other portions of data on a tag: Jack was very happy that the addressability on his laptop could help him a lot when he wanted to save important information.

To take up and to hold another substance, usually gas or liquid, on a surface: The dye Kitty used was adsorbed on to the fiber of the fabric she was going to use.

The quality of being worthy of a recommendation; that which is sensible: Karen and Ted discussed with their real estate agent the advisability of buying a home so close to the airport.
affability (s) (noun), affabilities (pl)
The quality of being friendly or easy to get along with; approachable: John, the new neighbor, was so helpful, courteous, and generous and his affability was much liked and appreciated among the others living on the street.

The character of a person that shows him or her to be friendly, open, and sociable: The small firm was looking for a person possessing amiability and with a pleasant voice to be the receptionist at the desk.
amicability (s) (noun) (no pl)
The condition ob being friendly and peaceful: Ivy really was blessed with kindness, warmness, and goodwill towards others and this amicability won her many friends.
applicability (s) (noun), applicabilities (pl)
Relevance by virtue of being useful to the matter at hand: A screwdriver is great to have and its applicability for turning screws in or out of wood makes that kind of job much easier to accomplish!

The capability or aptness of an agricultural or farming area that can supply edible plants: Vegetables, wheat, oats, corn, apples, pears, grapes, peaches, strawberries, and cherries are just a few of the kinds of food which the arability of soil can be used by cultivators to accomplish the production of more nourishment for people and animals to consume.

Vulnerability to forceful assault or susceptibility to injury or physical violence: The assailability of women by muggers at night is very high in large cities.
