A type of plasmodium (type of protozoa or single-celled organism) found in some myxomycetes (slime molds) which consists of a network of very fine transparent strands that are not differentiated into ectoplasm and endoplasm and in which the protoplasm (substance of a cell outside of the nucleus) is not coarsely granular.
