fossula (s), fossulae (pl)
A small pit or depression.
ichnofossil
A trace fossil, such as that of an animal's track or burrow.
macrofossil
A fossil that is large enough to be studied directly, without the aid of a microscope.
microfossil
A fossil so small that it can be studied and identified only with a microscope.
nannofossil
Any fossil so small that it is near or below the limit of resolution of a light microscope.
nanofossil
Any fossil so small that it is near or below the limit of resolution of a light microscope.
refossion
The act of digging up again.
suffossion
A digging under; an undermining.
vestibular fossa, fossa of vestibule of vagina
The portion of the vestibule (passage) of the vagina between the frenulum of the labia minora (fold) connecting the two labia minora and the posterior labial commissure (slight fold uniting the lips majora posteriorly in front of the anus) of the vulva.
